Are you looking for a reliable backup plugin for your WordPress site? Whether you run a small personal blog or a business website, we recommend setting up an automated backup solution for your WordPress site. In this article, we will show you how to keep your WordPress content safe with BackupBuddy.

Why You Need a WordPress Backup Plugin for Your Website?

All websites on the internet are vulnerable to security threats. Any website can be hacked, lose data, or crash a server.

This can happen to anyone, whether you are using a WordPress website or not. Anyone with experience will have the same answer.

The first step to protecting yourself from such disasters is to implement an automated backup solution.

Just like your computer, you can back up your website and store the backups in separate locations. This allows you to easily restore your website when you need it.

If you do not update your website regularly, then you can probably create a manual database backup and download your WordPress files. However, if you update your website frequently, then it will be impossible to keep your backups up to date.

And that’s where BackupBuddy comes in. It’s a WordPress backup plugin that allows you to automatically create complete backups of your WordPress site and save them on multiple remote locations like cloud storage, your computer, FTP server, etc.

Set up real-time backups with BackupBuddy and Stash Live

The BackupBuddy plugin gives you access to Stash Live, BackupBuddy’s real-time backup storage system.

With real-time backups, changes to your WordPress posts, pages, media, themes, and plugins are automatically stored in your Stash online cloud storage.

This ensures that you always have the latest and most up-to-date backup of your site. Stash Live also makes it easy to restore your site with just one click.

Simply visit the BackupBuddy » Stash Live page in your WordPress admin area and fill in your iThemes username and password.

You’ll also need to provide the email address you want to receive notifications of new backups. These emails will contain links to the zip download files.

Click the ‘Save settings & start backup’ button to continue.

BackupBuddy will now start creating your first backup and uploading it to your Stash account. You will be able to see the backup progress on your screen.

Since this is your first Stash live backup, BackupBuddy will create and upload a complete backup. This process can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours, depending on how much data you have on your site.

Leaving the progress screen will not interrupt the backup. You can do other things on your WordPress site and the backup will continue to run in the background.

Once it’s complete, you’ll receive an email notification. You’ll also see the backup files as snapshots on the Stash Live page.

You can leave those snapshots on Stash Live. You can also download these snapshots to your computer or move them to your own server with one click at any time.

Set Up Scheduled Backups with BackupBuddy

Stash Live allows you to have the latest backup of your WordPress site with real-time backups.

However, if you don’t want to use Stash live, there are plenty of other ways to backup WordPress with BackupBuddy.

Just visit BackupBuddy » Backup page to create and set up backups.

First, you’ll need to provide an email address. This is where BackupBuddy will send you notification emails and backup emails.

Next, you’ll need to provide a password. This password will be used if/when you’re moving your WordPress site to a new server or host using BackupBuddy.

Once you’ve set up your password, you’ll then need to choose where to send your backups.

There are a number of options available. You can store your WordPress backups in your dropbox, Google Drive, Amazon S3, BackupBuddy’s Stash storage, among others.

Finally, you need to choose how often you want to create backups. You can create manual backups on demand or choose the option of monthly or weekly full backups with daily database backups.

Click the Save Settings button to continue.
